KEEHI LAGOON, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.S. Coast Guard on Sunday morning rescued a 50-year-old woman who had reportedly been in the water overnight.
According to the Coast Guard, passengers on board the Navatek I tour boat spotted the woman in distress around 11:20 a.m. near Keehi Lagoon. A 45-foot Coast Guard boat then recovered the woman about 10 minutes later.
The woman was taken to Kewalo Basin Harbor for further treatment, but she appeared in good condition and declined medical services, authorities said.
The swimmer told responders she went swimming in the Waikiki area between 9 and 10 p.m. on Saturday when a current swept her out to sea.
