MANOA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Fire Department rescued two hikers late Sunday.
The first incident happened around 7:45 p.m. where 12 firefighters responded to an injured hiker at a trail behind the University of Hawaii at Manoa Waahila faculty housing, according to HFD.
The 21-year-old female was airlifted to a land zone where Emergency Medical Services personnel treated her for a lower leg injury.
Around 8:10 p.m., 17 HFD personnel responded to a lost hiker in Waianae Valley. After conducting a ground search and aerial search, crews were able to locate the 23-year-old male hiker about an hour later.
A helicopter airlifted him to a nearby landing zone. He was not injured, HFD said.
