HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A High Surf Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m Monday for the north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai and the north shores of Maui.
The National Weather Service said 18 to 24 foot waves are possible for north shores, while west shores will have waves up to 12 to 18 feet. Waves are forecast to decline Monday.
Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice from ocean safety lifeguards and exercise caution. The waves may also cause additional beach erosion at the typically vulnerable locations.
