HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Former Deputy Prosecutor Jon Riki Karamatsu was found guilty on Wednesday of driving under the influence.
Karamatsu was arrested on April 4, 2015 in Waikiki when he refused a breath and field sobriety test. He resigned from his position a few days later.
The judge allowed his five-day jail sentence and $1,000 fine to be set aside pending an appeal.
Karamatsu was previously convicted of a DUI in 2007 when he was a state representative.
