Forecast: Swell to drop by Thursday, wave heights remain dangerous

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Light variable winds will takeover Thursday for a short spell with morning sunshine and afternoon clouds. Rainfall will remain minimal. Light easterly tradewinds are due back Friday.

The huge country swell will be dropping Thursday, although wave heights will remain elevated with dangerous conditions.

HIGH SURF WARNING north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai... north shores of Maui.

High Surf Advisory north and west shores of Hawaii Island.

Small Craft Advisory for all coastal and channel waters except Maalaea Bay.

Wind Advisory for Big Island summits above 8,000 feet.

Box Jellyfish expected along south shores. Check with lifeguards.
