UH athlete injured after falling 50 feet on Kaau Crater trail

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A University of Hawaii sand volleyball player was badly hurt on Saturday after falling 50 feet during a hike on the Kaau Crater trail.

Heather Boyan is said to be making progress on her recovery but requires extensive medical care.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the University of Hawaii, asking for donations "to ease the financial burden for her family."
