For the third straight home series, the University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will host a top 2-ranked opponent as No. 2 BYU comes to the Stan Sheriff Center for a two-match Mountain Pacific Sports Federation series, Wednesday, March 2 and Friday, March 4. First serve is 7:00 p.m., for both matches.
After starting the season 9-1, the Rainbow Warriors (10-7, 5-7 MPSF) have hit a rough patch, dropping six of their last seven matches, including a pair against top-ranked Long Beach State last week. UH remains at No. 7 in the national rankings for the second straight week and is tied for seventh in the MPSF standings with CSUN at 5-7.
BYU (14-2, 10-2) enters the series having won its last 10 matches - all in straight sets, - including eight straight against MPSF opponents. The Cougars are third in the league standings, two wins behind LBSU and Stanford in the win column.
BYU swept the season series last year in Provo, Utah after the Warriors swept the series in Honoulu in 2014. UH also swept the season series at home in 2010. BYU leads the all-time series 36-19.
