WAIPAHU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Fire Department reponded to a two-alarm building fire in Waipahu, Tuesday afternoon.
The first unit arrived to the scene at 4:31 p.m. to find a three-story commercial building with heavy smoke coming from the ground floor unit.
Firefighters were able to suppress the flames and prevent the fire from spreading. The fire was isolated to a bathroom and quickly brought under control at 4:34 p.m. Second alarm units were canceled en route.
The building was occupied at the time of the fire and all businesses were evacuated safely. One adult female did experience a medical emergency upon exiting the building. She was treated by HFD personnel and transferred to EMS.
The fire was fully extinguished by 4:51 p.m. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
