Man dies after motor vehicle collision in Waianae

WAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A Waianae man died early Sunday morning after colliding with a pedestrian on Farrington Highway.

The 33-year-old male was traveling westbound on a moped, reportedly at a high rate of speed when he collided with a 32-year-old pedestrian at about 1:10 a.m.

The moped driver was ejected from his moped upon impact. He was not wearing a helmet.

Both victims were taken to a local area hospital where the moped driver later died. The pedestrian remains in critical condition.
