LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A fisherman notified police dispatch Saturday evening about a male swimmer in distress in the vicinity of Ninini Beach, also known as Running Waters.
Crews reponded to the call at 5:16 p.m. to find a man unresponsive and under water in a cave. He was brought to shore by rescue specialists.
Firefighters performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived. He was then transported to Wilcox Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released the victim's name.
