HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The strong winds are easing ever so slightly today.

The official forecast from the NWS says "breezy" instead of "windy" with trades 15-25 mph and gusts to 40 mph. There are still a couple areas expected to see winds stronger than that.

A line of showers dampened Oahu neighborhoods overnight. It is beginning to clear our island and move over Maui County. Expect some leeward sunshine with passing showers throughout the day. High in Honolulu will be 82 degrees.

The wind swell along east shores is slightly smaller today. The National Weather Service says 5-8 feet east, 4-8 feet north, 2-4 feet west, and 1-2 feet south. Two new swells in the next week will be in the warning category. One arrives late Sunday night and the other late Wednesday.

High Surf Advisory for most east shores.

Small Craft Advisory for all Hawaii waters.

Wind Advisory for Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Windward Hawaii Island.
