HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An 8-inch water main break near Kapiolani Boulevard on Thursday temporarily cut off service for 10 customers, including the McCully Shopping Center, and also led to a road closure, according to the Board of Water Supply.
BWS said the break was reported just after 4:30 a.m. at 710 Pumehana Street. A troubleshooter worked to close valves in the area to shut down the leaking water main.
Some businesses at the McCully Shopping Center lost water for most of the morning, but water started flowing again after a temporary bypass waterline was set up at around 8:30 a.m.
The break was completely repaired by midnight and all lanes of Pumehana Street were reopened.
