WAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Even though more than a dozen tropical systems threatened Hawaii but never quite made landfall in 2015, it's never a bad idea to get prepared for a future storm or other disaster. This is why officials are holding a disaster preparedness workshop Wednesday night.
The free workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Waianae District Park. The workshop will help families understand what kind of emergency supplies they should have on hand, including a seven-day family disaster supplies kit.
The Waianae Coast Readiness Team – made up of volunteers – holds free monthly disaster preparedness workshops every third Wednesday.
