Local wahine basketball players from across the islands will showcase their skills in the 23rd annual Mufi Hannemann Basketball Jamboree this Monday.
The event is open and free to the public. Tip-off is at 9 a.m.
The tournament will be broken up into three divisions: 12 and under, 14 and under, and high school/collegiate. Fifty-two high school and former college players will participate in the event.
“We established this event as a showcase for local female student-athletes who were largely unrecognized locally, but were nonetheless well-represented in the collegiate ranks,” said event organizer Mufi Hannemann.
“The Jamboree will give promising underclassmen an opportunity to compete for a spot on our Team Aloha all-star squad.”
The Jamboree will feature former UH Manoa wahine players Shawna Lei Kuehu, Shawlina Segokia, Ki’i Vasconcellos, Kanisha Bello, and Brittney Yim. Also included are Brittni Ronolo and Mana Hopkins from Hawaii Pacific University, and Nikki Fu from Concordia University.
