KILAUEA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A fire that caused roughly $150,000 in damages to a home on Kauai Thursday morning displaced a family of three, county officials said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the single-story home on Titcomb Street in Kilauea just before 5 a.m. The blaze was fully extinguished about an hour later.
Officials said the fire appears to have started in one of the bedrooms, causing significant heat and smoke damage throughout the home.
A man and his 7-year-old grandson were home at the time, but were able to escape without injury. The American Red Cross was called to assist the family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
