WAHIAWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused an early morning blaze that destroyed a Wahiawa home Thursday.
The fire at a home at 63 Ilima St. started about 5:15 a.m. Four people, including a 9-year-old boy, were at home when the blaze started, but were able to get out. Officials say a man in his 60s was taken to an area hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
Fire officials said the home is a total loss.
Some 31 firefighters responded to the blaze, and had it under control by 5:51 a.m.
