HANAUMA BAY, OAHU (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - Hanauma Bay will reopen to swimmers Wednesday, after being closed for nearly a week because of an electrical problem.
The city said an electrical transformer blew out Thursday. Power was lost to restrooms on the beach level, forcing the closure of the beach.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is typically open Wednesday through Monday. The park is closed Tuesdays. Winter park hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
