(RNN) - Peyton Manning may get the headlines, but the day belongs to his defense.
A defensive touchdown, three turnovers and the longest punt return in NFL history helped carry the Denver Broncos to a 24-10 win over Carolina in Super Bowl 50.
Von Miller forced two fumbles on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who was named the NFL's most valuable player a day before the Super Bowl, on a night when Denver's defense kept the shifty Newton on the run.
The Broncos defense, which was the best pass rushing unit in the NFL, sacked Newton five times and kept the Panthers from ever seriously challenging the Broncos' tenuous lead.
The win represents the second championship of Manning's stellar career and may have been the last game he ever plays.
