HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kamaile Academy sixth-graders got to hang out with the popular musician Jack Johnson to tour an exhibit at the Honolulu Museum of Art Spalding House.
Developed by Johnson and his wife's foundations, the "See Art Make Art" tour for "Plastic Fantastic?" aims to provide students with opportunities to learn more about the impacts of plastic as well as how it can be used to create art.
The children toured the exhibit and learned how plastic affects the world and is killing marine life. They then made lei out of corrugated plastic, trash bags made from recycles plastic and bottle caps recovered through beach cleanups.
The artwork will be on display through July 10.
