HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A repeat of yesterday's beautiful weather is expected for our Thursday.
Light and variable winds will be influenced by an easy easterly flow much of the day and then by convective heating creating sea breezes this afternoon. Very few showers are showing up on radar and the atmosphere is fairly stable.
High in Honolulu will be 82 degrees.
Waves are slowly dropping out in the country. The next large swell is forecast to arrive along north and west shores late Saturday and peak on Sunday. The National Weather Service says waves today will be 6 to 10 feet for north shores, 3 to 6 feet for west shores, 2 to 4 feet for east shores, and 1 to 3 feet for south shores.
No marine or weather warnings are posted.
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement to get us ready for wet weather Saturday and very windy weather on Super Bowl Sunday. A fast-moving cold front is expected to sweep across the island chain on Saturday, bringing with it a brief period of showers. Very dry and gusty north winds are expected Saturday night and Sunday after the front passes. Those with plans to be outside on Super Bowl Sunday should prepare for windy conditions.
