Iolani School is hosting a conference for teachers across the nation to brainstorm together. It's called "Ignite Innovation" and will be held February 13, 2016 from 8am to 2:30pm. The idea is to bring teachers together in order to explore ways to encourage advanced thinking in students. Iolani Associate Head of School Karen Neitzel stopped by Sunrise to tell us why this is so important to educators.
The keynote speaker will be Sean Justice whose research addressed teaching in the digital age. He holds a doctorate in Art Education from Columbia University, Teachers College.
The conference has been sold out this year, but organizers hope to have another one next year. The cost to attend is $20. For more information, go to igniteinnovation.iolani.org.
