HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker says he knows exactly who to thank for helping him make his first-ever Pro Bowl appearance.

"I can't say I would be here without him," Walker said, speaking of Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota. "He makes me look good. He gives me the ball where I need it, in the perfect position. Sometimes I think we think the same way when we're out there."

With Mariota conducting the offense for most of the season, Walker set new career highs for both catches and receiving yards. Though he actually led all NFL tight ends in receiving this season, Walker says Mariota's off the field impact has been noticeable as well.

He's just a funny, genuine guy," Walker said. "He always puts everything on his shoulders, even if it wasn't his fault, he still takes the blame. And that's the type of leader you want."

Titans defensive lineman Jurrell Casey, also making his first career Pro Bowl appearance, has noticed Mariota's leadership potential.

"No matter how much of a beating he's taking, he's gonna keep that huddle calm, keep on trying to fight," Casey told Hawaii News Now on Wednesday. "I think for a team like us, we need a leader like him to come in and play that role. And he did a good job of it this season."

Both players say they plan on asking Mariota, who was born and raised in Hawaii, for advice on what to do during their Pro Bowl stay.

"He hit me up yesterday and said he'd be out here [on Thursday], so I'm just waiting for him to get out here," said Walker. "I'm gonna make him show me everything, and of course, buy everything. He is still a rookie."
