MILILANI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a building fire early Tuesday in Mililani.

Firefighters responded around 4 a.m. to a two-story apartment complex on Waihau Street, where they discovered smoke coming from a unit on the first floor. Four people – two adults and two children – managed to escape prior to firefighters’ arrival, the Honolulu Fire Department said.

The fire was extinguished shortly before 4:15 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

A fire official said the blaze started from a stove, but the cause is still under investigation. It caused approximately $11,000 in damages.
