TRAFFIC ALERT: Rail work adds more lane closures in Pearl City

PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Honolulu rail project will cause more lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in Pearl City starting Monday, according to rail officials.

The inside eastbound left-turn lane from Kamehameha Highway to Acacia Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for about three weeks. One eastbound left-turn lane will remain open.

Meanwhile, the westbound left turns remain closed as well as the inside-through lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions.

In the evening, the intersection will be closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists traveling in the eastbound direction can make a U-turn at Puu Momi Street. Westbound drivers can make a U-turn at Waiawa Road.

This is expected to continue through mid-February while crews work on the rail’s elevated guideway.
