Police investigating attempted murder case in downtown Honolulu

Honolulu police are investigating an attempted murder case on Friday in downtown Honolulu.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. near Nimitz Highway and Maunakea Street. 

Initially, there were reports that a female was allegedly set on fire, but it now appears she was doused with gas but no fire was started, police said.

The victim was transported to the hospital where she is now in stable condition, Emergency Medical Services said, adding that that there were no fire burns, but she may have suffered from smoke inhalation.

Police have issued an all-points bulletin in search of a female named Rachel, who was seen in a white 2003 Chevy Trailblazer with the license plate, SFZ 899. She was last ween wearing a black spaghetti-strap tank top, black shorts and her hair in a bun. 

Anyone with further information about Friday's case is asked to call police. This comes just a few days after a man allegedly set his 24-year-old girlfriend on fire in Kahaluu.
