Glenn Medeiros, who once shot to stardom with a pop love song in the 80s and 90s, has written and released a new song.

This one is much different than his chart-topping single, "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You." It's a song to mark the recent terror attacks in Paris and acknowledge the 170th anniversary of Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, which has strong ties to French Catholics.

"The Men of Saint Louis" was written and composed by Medeiros, who is now the Head of School there.

“I was moved by the tragic attacks in Paris and I felt compelled to write this song,” said Medeiros.  “My goal is to share the song with the French people and foster a friendship by bringing the Saint Louis name and legacy back to where it started.”

According to Medeiros, the accompanying music video depicts Saint Louis’ long history with French Catholics who settled in Hawaii and eventually founded Ahuimanu College in 1846, which evolved into the College of Saint Louis and then Saint Louis School.

“There’s an emotional message in this song as we celebrate our 170th anniversary in Hawaii,” he said.

Current students as well as some alumni participated in recording the song and video.
