Hawaii gas prices down nearly 70 cents since last year

Gas prices in Hawaii continue to slide, dipping to 69 cents lower than they were at this same time last year. But Hawaii is still one of the most expensive places in the nation to fuel your car.

Honolulu's average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded is now at $2.46 -- that's four cents lower than last week, according to AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. In Wailuku, the average is $3.15 and in Hilo it's $2.57.

The statewide average price for gas is now $2.63, down ten cents in a month.

Hawaii is now the second most expensive place for gas, right behind California, which has an average cost of $2.71 per gallon.
