Forecast: Light breezes precede northerly winds

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

One more day of light breezes and then some cool northerly winds tomorrow.

Trade winds are in the forecast for Thursday and much of Friday. Dry and mostly clear skies will greet you on this back-to-work Tuesday.

Volcanic haze will make for fuzzy sunshine on the Big Island and Maui County, to a lesser extent for Oahu and Kauai.

The high in Honolulu will be 79 degrees.

Wave sizes have dropped below advisory levels for today, but a new swell will push another episode of dangerously big surf our way tomorrow. The National Weather Service says by Wednesday afternoon, north shores will be 30 to 40 feet and west shores at 20 to 30 feet. The surf forecast for today includes north shores at 10 to 14 feet, west shores at 7 to 10 feet, south shores at 2 to 4 feet, and east shores at 1 to 3 feet.
