HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A cool start to our holiday Monday.

Overnight temperatures are in the low to mid 60s across the state. There are just a few clouds and showers.

Sunrise at 7:12 a.m. in Honolulu will reveal a mostly sunny sky. Convective heating in the afternoon will create a few clouds and even fewer showers. It is a stable and dry atmosphere.

The high in Honolulu will be 81 degrees.

North and west shore waves are dropping but will maintain advisory sizes for much of today. The National Weather Service forecast says 12 to 17 feet waves are expected for north shores, 8 to 12 feet for west shores, 2 to 4 feet for south shores and 1 to 3 feet for east shores. The next warning-sized swell is coming on Wednesday with yet another expected on Sunday.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for north and west shores until 6 p.m. today.
