Smith's career night lifts 'Bows over U.C. Riverside

Senior guard Quincy Smith scored a career high 17 points, and the Rainbow Warrior basketball team bested the Highlanders of U.C. Riverside, 80-71, on Thursday.

Smith, who shot 7-for-12 from the field during the road win, also led Hawaii with 6 assists. Three other 'Bows scored 15 points each, including forward Mike Thomas, who also added 9 rebounds.

Junior guard Roderick Bobbitt scored 6 points in 32 minutes off the bench after rejoining the team early Thursday morning. He did not travel with the rest of the team when the 'Bows departed for California on Tuesday.

Junior guard Aaron Valdes, who injured his ankle after playing just 4 minutes of Saturday's game against U.C. Santa Barbara, did not play in Thursday's contest.
