HILO, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

As the number of confirmed dengue fever cases continues to rise on the Big Island, the state Department of Health will now hold weekly sessions across the island to inform the community about the outbreak.

Attendees will learn about the disease, including symptoms, prevention and outbreak response efforts.

Sessions are open to the public and scheduled to continue through February.

The following are the locations and times:

Hilo:
Every Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
State office building – Rooms A, B, C

Kailua-Kona:
Every Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
West Hawaii Civic Center – Mayor’s conference room

Captain Cook:
Starting Jan. 19 – Every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
Yano Hall
82-6165 Mamalahoa Hwy.
