Man arrested in connection with convenience store armed robbery in Ewa Beach

EWA BEACH, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu police arrested a 31-year-old Ewa Beach man in connection with the robbery of an Ewa convenience store around 10:15 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect entered the Ewa Pantry located in the Ewa Pointe Marketplace off Kaimalie Street, according to workers.

Police say he then pulled a gun on a female clerk and demanded money. He allegedly stole some cigarettes before fleeing the store in a car.

Around 11:50 p.m., police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle on Mikohu Street and arrested the driver on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

There were no injuries reported.

The suspect vehicle has been towed to the police station for evidence and forensic processing.
