Maui firefighters responded to a report of hikers stuck on a rock ledge in an area in Kailua known as the Commando Trail.

The thick and high forest canopy made the rescue difficult, but all the victims were safely airlifted to a landing zone.

No injuries were reported.

Victims were described as a male and a female in their 20's who are Maui residents, and a male and female in their 20's who are visitors from Washington State.
