Autopsy finds Oahu man was murdered; search for suspect underway

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are searching for a murder suspect on Oahu.

The search was initiated after an autopsy revealed that a man who was discovered dead in his apartment was likely murdered. His body was found inside his unit on North Hotel Street around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2015.

The victim, identified as 49-year-old Hoang van Nguyen, was last seen alive on Sunday, Dec. 27 between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. near the intersection of North Hotel and River Streets.

Police say his car, a 2007 silver Toyota Camry, is missing. It has the Hawaii license plate: PDN 585.

Police are asking for the public's assistance to find the suspect or suspects responsible for Nguyen's death. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on your mobile device.
