Suspects wanted in botched Olomana Golf Course robbery

KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu police say they are looking for two men suspected of trying to rob the Olomana Golf Club overnight.
According to police, around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a security guard on patrol came across the suspects at an outside location on the property and they fled when they saw her.

Police say they’re investigating whether the men had weapons, but they were wearing dark clothing. The guard told police they fled in a vehicle toward the Maunawili area.
Police were responding to the call when about 20 minutes later, they were notified that a truck had just crashed along Maunawili Road near the Maunawili Trail area a few miles away.
The white flatbed truck hit the brush and front sign at the entrance of the Crater Valley townhomes subdivision.
The suspects are believed to have fled the vehicle on foot into the surrounding area.
Police indicated they discovered some evidence at the crash scene pertinent to the case.
It’s unclear whether the suspects were looking to take cash or equipment from the club’s eatery and pro-shop, or whether they were after the ATM that’s located onsite.

Detectives with HPD’s Criminal Investigation Division are handling the investigation.
Anyone with information on the suspects or the crime is asked to contact police.
