Last minute shoppers in a rush to buy gifts

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Cashiers' fingers got a workout on Christmas Eve. Ringing up dozens of last minute shoppers.

Douglas Simmons, the general manager at Razor Concepts in Pearlridge Mall says a lot of customers coming in are looking for the same things.

"Right now our hover boards are really up there," Simmons said. "We have people coming in all day looking at those. Also our pop vinyls are selling well."

Shoppers made their way up and down the escalators, hitting stores on every level in search of the perfect present.

"I was just getting an iPhone for my daughter," said Gene Monvilus.

We even found a few tiny procrastinators out and about. Little Leiana Dewey came shopping with her aunt.

"I got mom a candle.  And I got my brother a wubble bubble.  You know you blow it up and it's just a huge bubble that you throw around," said Dewey.

The longest lines weren't found at any particular store.  But instead at the Pearlridge Express Holiday Locomotive.

While shoppers will spend the evening wrapping gifts.  Workers are already planning for that post holiday rush.

"Especially since it's a Saturday.  So it's already a weekend on top of being the day after Christmas so it's going to be a busy day," said Simmons.
