HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The company that is already slated to build three stations for the Honolulu rail project was awarded another contract to build three more.

HART announced Nan, Inc. submitted the winning $115.8 million bid to build the Pearl Highlands, Pearlridge and Aloha Stadium stations.

The three stations in the Pearl City area were originally included in a nine-station package that came in well over HART's budgeted projections which was later repackaged into three smaller packages, and saved HART nearly $40 million.

Earlier this year, HART awarded Nan, Inc. the contract to build the three stations comprising the West Oahu Stations Group: the East Kapolei station, the Hoopili station, and the station at UH West Oahu.

Another company, Watts, Constructors had submitted a bid that was $3 million less, but HART deemed they didn't meet all the terms of the bid.
