The Obamas arrived in Hawaii early Saturday for their annual Christmas vacation.
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
President Barack Obama and his family have arrived on Oahu for their annual holiday vacation in Hawaii.
Air Force One touched down with the First Family at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. From there, the presidential motorcade left for a rental home in Kailua where the family has spent several holidays in the past.
The arrival was not open to the public, but several members of the media were allowed on the tarmac.
The president's last order of business before leaving for Hawaii was a somber one. He made a stop in California to meet with survivors and the family of victims of the recent mass shooting in San Bernardino.
While in Hawaii, the president usually plays golf with friends, works out at the gym at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and spends time with his family -- often including a stop at Island Snow in Kailua.
President Obama, Michelle, Malia and Sasha are expected to remain in Hawaii for about two weeks, leaving on Jan. 3.
