Crews are trying to determine why emergency warnings sirens went off in three Oahu communities on Friday.
A spokeswoman with state Civil Defense said it appears the problem was with a computer operating system, and not the sirens themselves.
The malfunctions happened in the early afternoon in Makiki, Waikiki and near Dole Cannery.
Crews have been dispatched to investigate.
