TRAFFIC ALERT: Film production to shut down lanes in Chinatown

Some lanes in Chinatown will be affected by film production from Wednesday through early Friday, according to the City and County of Honolulu.

Starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, a makai lane on North King Street will be closed. By 8 p.m., two lanes will be closed, and by 10 p.m., three lanes will be closed.

On Thursday at 6 p.m., one makai lane will be closed, and by 8 p.m., two travel lanes will be closed.

At 10 p.m., all lanes on North King Street will be closed between River and Maunakea Streets until 5:30 a.m. Friday. During this time, drivers will be redirected to Pauahi Street and Nimitz Highway.

On both nights, Kekaulike Street will be closed from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Chinatown will still be accessible via Nimitz Highway, Pauahi Street or Beretania Street.

Bus riders will also be affected during this timeframe. Buses that usually travel makai-bound on North King Street will be detoured away from the filming area onto Hotel Street from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. The bus stop at the corner of River and North King Streets will also be relocated near the Maunakea and King Street intersection from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. both nights.
