WAHIAWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have arrested a 33-year-old man for several offenses related to a possible kidnapping case in Wahiawa.
Police said on Monday around 11:30 p.m., the suspect, James Keanu, was driving and allegedly hit another vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man. Keanu then told the 23-year-old female passenger to get into his vehicle, which she did. Before leaving, Keanu then verbally threatened the other driver, according to police.
Keanu was located and arrested the following day.
It's not clear what led up to the incident or how the people knew one another. However, Keanu faces several charges, including family abuse, kidnapping, terroristic threatening, criminal property damage and contempt of court warrants.
As of Wednesday morning, he was still in police custody.
