High Surf Advisory canceled for north shores, but now in effect for east shores

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has canceled the High Surf Advisory for north-facing shores and has instead issued one for east-facing shores.

The High Surf Advisory is in effect for east shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island until 6 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters said surf should reach 8 to 11 feet through Friday.

Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents, making swimming difficult and dangerous.
