The Hawaii ukulele player best known for his appearance in the movie “Shallow Hal” died on Kauai, according to multiple news reports.
People Magazine reported Joshua Shintani’s mother took him to an emergency room where he was diagnosed with an advanced case of pneumonia.
He reportedly died Nov. 25 at 32 years old.
Shintani got his big break after he was spotted by a movie director who happened to be vacationing on Kauai. He was discovered while playing his ukulele outside a public library.
