A car fire shut down westbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway in the Kalihi area late Monday.
Police said around 9:40 p.m., a sedan was engulfed in flames on the right shoulder lane, forcing officers to redirect traffic to the Houghtailing Street off-ramp.
All lanes were reopened by 10:20 p.m., but traffic was still slow moving for a while.
Hawaii News Now reached out to the Honolulu Fire Department, but has not received further details about what exactly happened. However, no injuries were reported.
