Rainbow Wahine headed to College Station, Texas to open NCAA Tournament

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Despite a one-loss season and a constant top-ten ranking, the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team was not awarded one of the 16 seeded berths in the 2015 tournament and will have to travel to College Station, Texas to open tournament play.

Hawaii will play the Horned Frogs of TCU on Friday at 12:30 p.m. (HST) in College Station, home of regional host Texas A&M.

Should they Rainbow Wahine win, they'll play the winner of the Aggies tournament opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The Rainbow Wahine, as members of the Des Moines regional bracket, will have to contend with two-time defending national champion Penn State University and #2 tournament seed Minnesota.
