The Honolulu Zoo will welcome four African penguins on Wednesday, just in time for winter.
The endangered male African penguins come from the Seneca Park Zoo in New York and are native to the coast of South Africa, which was recently devastated by an oil spill.
Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell and other city officials will help welcome the newest additions at 1:30 p.m.
The zoo is also launching new elephant shade structures and a new filtration system at the monkey island exhibit, all of which were installed this month.
