HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Kaimuki woman was slightly injured Sunday in the brand new Bloomingdale's store at Ala Moana Center after a water-saturated ceiling panel fell on her head.
The woman's sister recorded the scene just moments after the panel and a gush of water came down in the family restroom of the store's 2nd floor.
The store opened less than two weeks ago.
In the rush to get the wing ready, contractors for some stores were accused by the state of cutting corners and hiring unqualified laborers in cash. Bloomingdales was not accused in that investigation.
The woman who was hit by the falling tile says Bloomingdale's was very apologetic and she is not upset.
