HONOLULU (AP) - A cab driver is facing up to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a passenger, with another case on similar charges yet to go to trial.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports 54-year-old Enio Tablas was found guilty Friday of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman to whom he had offered a free fare.
He will be sentenced Jan. 27 on two counts of third-degree sexual assault. Each count carries up to a five-year prison term.
The trial has yet to be set in the case of a woman who told police Tablas offered her a free fare after she'd been drinking. She said she passed out in the cab and Tablas was raping her when she woke up.
