The 17th annual Thanksgiving Outreach took place Saturday at the Ko Olina Resort.
This year over 4,000 meals were distributed amongst 14 west side churches and veterans groups from Pearl City to Waianae.
Ko Olina employees and community members, Leeward Community College and Aulani Disney Resort donated 2,700 pounds of kalua pig, 750 pounds of ham, 600 pounds of rice, 100 plus gallons of gravy, 400 pounds of corn, 340 dozen rolls and 100 pans of pumpkin pie.
Ko Olina with the help of UPS has been providing Thanksgiving meals to Leeward residents and families since 1999.
“Our annual Thanksgiving Outreach is an important core program for Ko Olina and the surrounding Leeward families,” said Sweetie Nelson, Director of Destination Marketing, Ko Olina Resort Association in a statement. “We’re happy to support these organizations and provide fresh home-made meals to those who need it most.”
