Hilo man arrested for stolen truck, police find meth in his possession

A Hilo man is in police custody after being found in a stolen truck with drugs in his possession.

35-year-old Bradford Leialoha was arrested Thursday after being spotted in Puna driving a truck that had been reported stolen. Following his arrest Hilo detectives continued their investigation and found 11.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine in Leialoha’s belongings.

On Friday, Leialoha was charged with first-degree meth trafficking, promoting a dangerous drug, possessing drug paraphernalia and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

His bail is set at $310,000.

Leialoha was also charged with violating terms of a supervised release and held without bail on that charge pending his initial appearance in court.
